Dr. Sabine Theurer-Barajas is a native of Germany and moved to the United States in 1992. After undergraduate studies in Psychology, she earned her Master of Science Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Samra University, Los Angeles in 1998. She has been a board certified Acupuncturist in the state of California since January of 2000.
Later, Dr. Sabine Theurer-Barajas received her doctorate degree from Yo San University in Los Angeles. During her time at Yo San, she had the opportunity to conduct her own original research in the field, and also had the privilege to do a clinical internship at one of the larges TCM hospitals in the world in Chengdu, China. There, she participated in grand rounds, and observed first hand how acupuncture can be integrated in a modern hospital setting.
From the beginning of her career, Dr. Sabine Theurer-Barajas enjoyed practicing acupuncture in a Western medical setting. She believes that it is important to integrate alternative medicine into Western medicine, to allow for a comprehensive holistic treatment approach. Both areas of medicine have important roles, and we must not disregard either one.
Through working with many patients, Dr. Sabine Theurer-Barajas has seen the impressive results that acupuncture and Chinese medicine can have. She is grateful to be able to share the benefit of her extensive education with you.
