Acupuncture is a widely accepted treatment that benefits thousands of individuals with a variety of conditions every day. However, the success is fully dependent on individualized response. Our team will do everything possible to ensure your success.
We will review your medical records and familiarize ourselves with your medical history and with any therapies you’ve had so far. This will be prepared and completed ahead of time. We will spend the first few minutes of your appointment asking additional questions about your pain, but in order to maximize effectiveness, the majority of the initial visit will consist of treatment.
We use very fine needles as thin as hair so there should be minimal to no discomfort while the needles are inserted. After all needles are inserted, you should feel comfortable and able to relax.

We look forward to assisting you with your diagnosis and treatment. In order to make the best of your appointment, it is very important that you come as prepared for this appointment as possible. Please remember to bring all forms completed and signed to your first appointment. Please review all documents under "Relevant Information for Patients" prior to your appointment. In addition, please bring the following items with you to your appointment:

There is no way of knowing ahead of time how you will respond to the treatment. This depends on your individualized response. Typically, it takes approximately six treatments to determine the response you are receiving from acupuncture.
This is determined on an individual basis. The usual frequency is twice a week but this may vary.

Our approach to spine & sports medicine is an inter disciplinary method for diagnosing and treating spine and orthopedic conditions in conservative minimally invasive fashion.

Spinal injections or nerve blocks are used to diagnose the source of pain as well as a method of treatment to relieve pain by decreasing inflammation or irritation. All spinal injections are performed under X-ray guidance, called fluoroscopy. This confirms correct placement of the needle and provides safety and precision. These are done usually as an outpatient and require pre and post procedure preparations.

We will discuss your health condition with you, and explain how acupuncture will help you. Most of the time spent at the appointment will be devoted to treatment. Needles will be inserted in strategically selected locations on the body and you will rest comfortably for 20 minutes. An infrared heat lamp (a source of gentle heat) will be used.
