Tui Na (pronounced ‘tway-nah’) massage is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that can address a wide range of health problems. Tui Na uses wave like motions and rhythms to loosen joints, nourish the muscles and encourage the flow of “chi” (also known as “qi” or “prana”). Tui Na massage is characterized by skillful strokes of the fingers, gliding or rolling hand and arm movements. Gentle shaking, joint rotations and stretching are also used in this this vigorous massage style. Tui na also may be known as meridian massage as it opens stagnant acupressure channels and encourages the flow of chi to any deficient areas. It improves mobility, fluidity and works from a place of bringing balance and optimal functioning to the body, mind and spirit. Tui Na massage allows you to stay fully clothed during the treatment.
Myofascial Release is a form of massage that uses techniques for stretching the fascia and releasing bonds between fascia, skin, muscles, and bones. Myofascial release helps the body eliminate pain, increase range of motion and balance the body. Fascia is found throughout the body and is manipulated, directly or indirectly, through myofascial release. This treatment allows the connective tissue fibers to reorganize themselves in a more flexible and functional manner. It decreases pain and increases range of motion.
