Dr. Derek Rodeback
Dr. Derek Rodeback has devoted himself to learning how to help those who have not received pain relief with traditional medicine. As a child his mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness and had very little pain relief with traditional medical approaches. As he continues to develop as a physician he has felt compelled to find the most effective methods to assist patients with pain. His goal is always to relieve pain and allow as much function and enjoyment in daily life as possible. Personal experience with juvenile diabetes and the time with his mother provided him a unique approach and bedside manner that traditional medical education cannot easily provide. Training as an osteopathic physician at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine also assisted to improve the use his hands to find an accurate diagnosis. After medical school Dr. Rodeback completed residency training in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Loma Linda University.
Treatments such as Prolotherapy, Perineural Injection therapy, Platelet rich plasma protein, and alpha-2 macroglobulin continue to help him relieve the pain of more patients. Being involvement with research of Hypermobility Syndrome and its symptoms has provided many patients with answers as to why their pain has been unresolved with conventional steroid injections.
As with all the providers at the Comprehensive Spine and Sports Center’s team he continues his training with multiple educational conferences for the most recent research and most effective treatment approaches.
